Project description
The project was implemented in 2025 in Serbia for starch industry at a plant for modified starches within the food and beverage industry. System integration was carried out by IOS-Inženjering. The project was executed in a process plant environment.
The main objective was the control of filling and emptying of the condensate tank. The task included monitoring the level in the storage tank, automatic start of the product discharge pump, and prevention of dry pump operation.
The controller performs real-time measurement and compares the measured value with defined thresholds. Based on this comparison, the system automatically initiates or stops the discharge pump. In low-level conditions, the system blocks pump operation to prevent dry running and activates alert functions.
The system measures the product level using a level meter. According to the measured value, the controller manages pump operation and ensures controlled filling and emptying cycles. The automation also enables emergency system monitoring and remote overview of system status.
The installed equipment includes an akYtec PR100 controller. The solution is integrated with a SITRANS LR100 level meter and a Weintek operator panel. Compatibility between akYtec equipment and third-party devices enabled straightforward installation and integration within the existing process structure. The controller, level meter, and operator interface function together as a unified system.
