I-O modules

akYtec I/O modules include two lines: Mx110 with RS485 and Mx210 with Ethernet

  • Modules are compatible with third-party PLCs

  • Mx110
    Mx110 is a range of I/O modules with an RS485 interface and Modbus RTU protocol. The modules are connected via a two-wire communication line to the master device and can be used to build centralized and decentralized automation systems. The Mx110 series is compatible with any devices supporting RS485, such as third-party PLCs, programmable relays, PCs with installed SCADA systems, HMIs, etc.

  • Mx210
    Mx210 - the range of universal I/O modules with Ethernet interfaces. These modules support a wide range of protocols, such as Modbus TCP, MQTT, and SNMP, making them suitable for both centralized and decentralized industrial automation systems, as well as IIoT applications. The Mx210 series is compatible with third-party PLCs, programmable relays, PCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, etc.

1. Determine the communication protocol and interface

akYtec I/O modules support two types of physical communication interfaces: RS485 and Ethernet. Each of these interfaces has its own advantages and disadvantages.

RS485

A widely used interface, with key advantages including long-distance data transmission and low cost. However, this interface has drawbacks such as low data transmission speed and a limitation on the number of devices that can be connected in a single line.

Ethernet

The Ethernet interface offers high data transmission speeds and the ability to connect a large number of devices. Among the disadvantages is the limitation on transmission distance, which can be overcome by using signal amplifiers.
