ITP17 three-color universal indicator

SKU: ITP17

The ITP17 is a universal indicator for monitoring industrial processes. It features a three-color display that shows parameters in green, yellow, and red. You can customize the thresholds for color changes to suit their specific needs. The ITP17 simplifies the selection process by directly interfacing with a variety of sensors, including those for temperature, level, pressure, and humidity, ets.

Main features of ITP17

  • Three-color seven-segment indicator (green\red\yellow)
  • Configurable analog input (0-5 mA, 0(4)-20 mA, 0(2)-10 V), RTDs and thermocouples signals.
  • Programming via MicroUSB.
  • ON/OFF Control: Includes an NPN output for ON/OFF control functionality.
  • Operating modes: continuous indication of the measured parameter\three-color indication by thresholds.
  • Standardised design and fits into a standard 22.5 mm borehole for signal lamps.

Product Description
    Details

    Functionality of ITP17:

    • 4-digit three-color indicator.
    • Universal input: Supports direct connection of resistance thermometers, thermocouples, pressure sensors, humidity sensors, level sensors, etc. (For more details on the characteristics of measurement sensors, refer to the sensor specifications.)
    • Three-color indication: Configurable according to required thresholds.
    • Operating modes: Continuous indication of the measured parameter in red, yellow, or green, similar to the ITP14 and ITP16.
    • Alarm indication: Triggered by signal interruption or when measurements exceed specified limits.
    • Output device: For signaling or control with 200 mA and 42 V.
    • Power supply: From an external DC voltage source of 10...30 V.
    • Design features:
      • Mounts into a 22 mm hole.
      • Removable screw terminals.
      • Operating temperature range: -40 to +60 °C.
      • Enclosure protection rating: IP65 from the front panel.

    Display operation

The visual notification of the measured value status in ITP-17 is accompanied by an automatic color change. Let's consider an example of setting up color signaling of the heating process. Four events are defined: normal, underheating, overheating and emergency overheating. Each event has its own indicator color.

The ITP-17 indicator setup allows for the configuration of any user-defined color change thresholds and the corresponding colors within the signal measurement range. The only rule is that the threshold values for each subsequent color zone must be greater than the previous threshold.

FAQ

    FAQ

What type of signal does the Three-color Universal Indicator ITP17 support? How should I connect it?
The ITP17’s input can be set up to any of the following signal types:
    - current: 0-5 mA, 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA
    - voltage: 0-10 V or 2-10 V.
    - RTD
    - TC
The way you should connect your sensor to the ITP17 depends on the output signal of this sensor:
    Connecting sensor to the ITP17
    Rate the answer?
Can I connect the Three-color Universal indicator ITP17 to a temperature sensor PT100 directly or should I use a 4-20 mA converter?
Yes, you can do this without any signal converters.
    Rate the answer?
What software do I need to program the ITP17?
You can configure the ITP17 in two ways:
    - Using the three buttons on the cylindrical body of the ITP17.
    - Using our free Akytec Tool Pro software via USB.
    Rate the answer?
What is the IP rating of this display?
Proper device installation (see User Guide) warrants protection against dust and water (IP65 on the front). Because of the exposed terminal block, the rear part of the enclosure is rated much lower – IP20.
    Rate the answer?
What is the ITP17’s accuracy? What about its sample time?
    Sampling time, max. 1 s
    Full-scale accuracy , max.
    RTD, U / I signals ± 0,25 %
    TC, pyrometers ± 0,5
    Rate the answer?
Is there any galvanic isolation between the input, the output, and the voltage supply circuit?
The ITP17 have three potential groups:
    − Power supply 24 V DC
    − Analog input
    − Digital output

Galvanic isolation from each group to the enclosure is 500 V.
Galvanic isolation between groups is 500 V.
    Rate the answer?
What is the maximum distance to connect an RTD or a TC signal to the ITP17?

We recommend having this distance as short as possible, because the resistance of a long conductor can affect the measurement accuracy.
    Rate the answer?
In what colors is the display available?
The enclosure is only available in black color. The LEDs can be red\green\yellow color.
    Rate the answer?
What diameter should the mounting cutout be to install this display?
The device is designed for panel mounting in a borehole of Ø22.5 mm.
    Rate the answer?
Can I connect several Three-color Universal Indicator ITP17 to the common analog output? How should I connect them, in series or in parallel?
    Yes, you can do this.
The connection depends on the input signal:
    - Current (4-20 mA, 0-5 mA or 0-20 mA) – serial connection; the maximum number of displays depends on the available power, each ITP17 consumes 1W;
    - Voltage (0-10 V or 2-10 V) – parallel connection; the maximum number of displays depends on the available load current.
