FAQ

    FAQ

How to connect a device to the akYtec Cloud?
Devices with Modbus TCP connect to the cloud directly (without a gateway) - Internet access is required for connection. Devices with Modbus RTU connect to the cloud via one of three gateways:
    GE-24-Cloud with Ethernet;
    GW-24-Cloud with Wi-Fi;
    GG-24-Cloud with GPRS (2G).

Is it possible to connect third-party devices to akYtec Cloud?
Any devices with Modbus RTU/ASCII protocols on board can be connected to akYtec Cloud via one of the Gx-24-Cloud gateways.
    Rate the answer?
Is it possible to connect third-party devices to akYtec Cloud without Modbus RTU?
At the moment we don't have this feature, but we are developing GU-24-Cloud gateway to connect third-party devices with Modbus TCP (Ethernet).
    Rate the answer?
What are the future plans for the development of the Gateway series?
We are currently developing two gateways:
    GL-24-Cloud with LTE (4G)
GU-24-Cloud is a gateway with two SIM cards and a universal Ethernet port. It is possible to select the Ethernet port operation mode: connection of devices with Modbus TCP to the gateway or redundancy of the communication channel with the cloud.
    Rate the answer?
Which akYtec devices can be connected to the cloud?
    Devices with RS485 - via Gx-24-Cloud gateway:
    - mini-PLC (PR100, PR102, PR103, PR200)
    - I/O modules (Mx110)
    - Data logger (MSD200)
    - Programmable logic controllers (SPC210)

Devices with Ethernet - direct connection (without gateways):
    - mini-PLC (PR103)
    - I/O modules (Mx210)
    - Programmable logic controllers (SPC210)
    Rate the answer?
Is there an option to use gateways to connect to third-party cloud services (AZURE, AWS, Google)?
The gateways are designed to connect to akYtec Cloud only.
    Rate the answer?
Is it possible to use third-party antennas with the GG-24-Cloud and GW-24-Cloud?
Yes, any antenna with SMA connector is supported
    Rate the answer?
What type of sim cards are supported by GG-24-Cloud?
    Micro SIM
    Rate the answer?
Do GG-24-Cloud and GW-24-Cloud come with the antenna in the box?
Yes, the devices are supplied with antennas
    Rate the answer?
What happens if the internet connection drops? Do the devices have failover?
The GW-24-Cloud gateway supports primary and reserve Wi-Fi connections. If the primary network becomes unavailable, it automatically switches to the reserve connection. GG-24-Cloud and GE-24-Cloud models do not support network failover.
    Rate the answer?
Can the gateway devices buffer data during internet outages?
    Devices cannot buffer data.
    Rate the answer?
How many devices can be connected to each gateway?
Up to 32 devices with RS485 interface can be connected to each gateway
    Rate the answer?
What software do I need to configure the gateways?
GE-24-Cloud and GW-24-Cloud are configured via ToolPro, GG-24-Cloud via SMS
    Rate the answer?
How do I update the firmware on the gateway devices, and what happens during a firmware update - do devices disconnect?
Firmware updates are performed using ToolPro. During the update process, the gateway briefly disconnects from the network but automatically reconnects once the update is complete.
    Rate the answer?
Does the GG-24-Cloud support dual SIMs?
    GG-24-Cloud doesn't support dual SIMs.
We are developing gateway GU-24-Cloud with two SIM cards and a universal Ethernet port. It is possible to select the Ethernet port operation mode: connection of devices with Modbus TCP to the gateway or redundancy of the communication channel with the cloud.
